Frequently Asked Questions

Scrunchie watch band questions

How do I know what size watch band I need?

To measure for the size band you need, select the area you wish to wear your smart watch and measure with flexible tap measure. If you do not have any flexible tap measure available, use a string and then measure the string to a rigid measuring tape or stick.

If you have a smaller Samsung Galaxy watch (40mm, 41mm, 42mm) add 0.2 inches to your measurement for the most accurate fit.

If you are between sizes, it is usually best to select the size closest to your measurement. Sizing down will extend the longevity of your watch band, but sizing up will provide an initially more comfortable fit. The elastic can be loosened by stretching. If you have very sensitive skin or prefer a loose fit, please size up - however please know that the longevity of your watch band and function of watch biometric readers may be impacted.

Over time the elastic will relax and loosen. Because of this it is preferable for the fit of the band to be snug (but not overly tight). This way when it does naturally loosen with wear the fit will not be too loose. Due to the quality elastic I use, the fit will be more snug than the typical quality of mass produced scrunchie bands and will not loosen as drastically or as quickly.

Per Apple:

You can use a band that's designed for Apple Watch (1st generation) and Apple Watch Series 1, 2, and 3 with Apple Watch Series 4 and later and Apple Watch SE as long as the sizes are compatible.

Bands for 38mm, 40mm, and 41mm cases are compatible with each other, and bands for 42mm, 44mm, and 45mm cases are compatible with each other.

Bands for 49mm cases are compatible with 44mm and 45mm cases. Bands for 44mm or 45mm cases are compatible with 49mm cases.

How can I clean my watch band?

For cotton/blend scrunchie bands:
If dirty, your scrunchie band can be hand washed. Remove the band and set the smartwatch itself aside. To prevent loss on Samsung watch bands, it is best to remove the pins and set them aside in a safe place with the watch body. Using a common detergent (dish soap, laundry soap) diluted with lukewarm water you can gently hand wash the scrunchie band. Rinse thoroughly and hang dry completely before attaching to the watch/using again. Soaking is not recommended to preserve elasticity and maintain fabric condition.

For satin fabrics:

For specialty fabrics:

Due to the nature of specialty fabric care, standard handwashing may be too harsh and cause damage to the fabric. Using only dry cleaning techniques on the scrunchie band after removing it from the smartwatch would be the safest option.

Can I swim in my scrunchie watch band?

It is very important that scrunchie bands are not worn while swimming in chlorine pools! Chlorine is extremely harsh on fabric and can quickly degrade the elasticity.

Soaking in water is not otherwise suggested.  A silicone watch band would be best for swimming if your watch is waterproof.
